Manama: Bahrain’s eGovernment Authority (eGA) has announced the release of ‘Ramadaniyat’ to provide a range of services with an application for smart devices.

All eServices related to Ramadan will now be available on the Ramadaniyat section on the eGovernment portal (bahrain.bh), the mobile portal (www.bahrain.bh/mobile), the authority said.

The services are also accessible through WAP and SMS by sending the relevant codes of each service as specified on the Ramadaniyat page.

“Ramadaniyat provides a collection of integrated eServices that are looked for by people who fast, eServices include prayer times, Ramadan calendar and a list of Majlis, along with other services that are available in a one-stop-shop which saves time, effort and the burden of searching for information,” the authority said.

“This year, a number of services are also available on a new application for smart devices, launched under the ‘Ramadanyat’ section. The application also provides a prayer time service, information about Zakat (alms giving), the weather forecast and the Ramadan Majlis Directory which enables the user to view a list of Ramadan gatherings, their timings and contact numbers.”

Innovative

A new service will provide daily recipes obtained from the programme ‘Shahrazad and Shahryar’ which will be broadcasted live every day on Radio Bahrain from Sunday to Thursday.

The section will also include a daily competition that comprises 15 questions — one question a day — starting from the first to the fifteenth of Ramadan. Answers should be received via the portal where the correct answer and the winner’s name will be announced the following day.

The eGovernment Authority said that the move is driven by its keenness to interactively communicate with the public and offer new innovative services.
