Manama: Bahrain and Arabic music giant Rotana have rejected a media report which claimed that one of the Bahrain king's sons has produced a CD containing Shiite liturgical lyrics and chants.

Kuwaiti newspaper Al Dar on Tuesday reported in an article on its front page that Shaikh Nasser Bin Hamad Al Khalifa produced the CD Ashura Miracle with the help of a famous composer who provided the music for the lyrics.

Al Dar attributed the report to websites it did not name, but said that Shaikh Nasser wrote the lyrics and performed the chants.

The alleged CD cover featured the picture of Shaikh Nasser wearing a black bandana to tie his long hair and looking confidently ahead.

"Ashura Miracle, written and performed by Shaikh Nasser Bin Hamad Al Khalifa" was written on the cover, which also featured the green Rotana music logo on the top left.

Rotana said that the report was baseless and lacked credibility and that the logo on the alleged CD cover was a fabrication.

The music company warned that it would take legal action against anyone abusing its logo or name.

Shaikh Nasser, the fourth son of King Hamad Bin Eisa Al Khalifa, was born in 1987 and has composed several poems, the latest was last month when he paid rich tribute to Saudi King Abdullah on his historic visit to Bahrain.

He is currently the head of the Bahrain Olympic Committee and the chairman of the Council of Trustees of the Royal Charity Foundation.
