Abu Dhabi: The Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood has launched “My Child’s Seat” initiative to provide special car seats for children to protect them against road accidents.

Reem Abdullah Al Falasi Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, said the initiative, launched in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior, comes in line with the directives of Her Highness Shaikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, as part of her humanitarian initiative to achieve the UAE’s vision and aspirations.

The initiative also supports the decision of Shaikha Fatima to dedicate a day for Emirati children on March 16 every year, Al Falasi added. The decision in this regard was announced in the beginning of this month.

Al Falasi said the initiative will target fathers, mothers and other members of families to urge them to provide special car seats for their children.

She urged all donors to contribute for the success of the initiative, which aims to provide a secure life to children.

Those who want to donate child seats can visit the General Women’s Union in Abu Dhabi, Dubai’s Women Association, Sharjah Women’s Union Association, Ras Al Khaimah’s Women Association, Community Development Centre in Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain Women’s Society,
