Dubai: Bahrain joined Egypt and Libya in announcing on Tuesday it is taking Qatar to International Criminal Court (ICC) for its destructive policies and subversive roles in the three Arab counties.

“Bahrain’s national interest requires an action to deter Qatar-backed terrorism through an international lawsuit,” a group of Bahraini lawmakers said in a statement. “Countries calling for combating terrorism are urged to contribute to the dossier which will document Qatar’s role in subverting security and stability and interference in the domestic affairs of sovereign countries,” they said, adding that crimes ” perpetrated by the government of Qatar do not fall under the penal statute of limitations as they concern state security.

Earlier this month, Egypt said it going to sue Qatar before ICC for their policies inside the two countries.

Chairperson of Egyptian Organization for Human rights (EOHR), Hafeaz Abu Saada, announced that the organization has contacted international lawyers to form a body to sue Qatar and receive compensation for its support to terrorism.   “Terrorism has caused huge losses in the victims, injured or damaged facilities, and proof of Qatar’s support to terrorism makes it easy to obtain compensation for its support,” Abu Saada.

Several weeks earlier, Ahmad Mesmari, spokesperson for the Libyan National Army, known as Haftar’s forces, said that Qatar destroyed the whole Arab country, and that it has the evidence to sue Qatar before ICC.

Bahrain, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and UAE cut their relations with Qatar in June over Doha’s support to terrorism and its interference in their internal affairs.

Meanwhile, Chad said it is closing Qatar's embassy and giving its diplomats 10 days to leave the country, accusing the Gulf Arab state of trying to destabilize the central African nation via its northern neighbor Libya.   Chad’s diplomatic mission in Doha will be closed and all the personnel will be recalled.

"In order to safeguard peace and security in the region, Chad calls on Qatar to cease all actions that could undermine its security as well as those of the countries of the Lake Chad basin and the Sahel," the foreign ministry statement said.

In an article published by Gulf News today, Gulf expert Mohamed Al Asoomi, wrote that the “Arab Spring” that Doha is supporting and boasting about has brought massive economic losses, material destruction, 1.5 causalities between killed and injured, 14 million refugees.   These losses can’t be overlooked, he said.
