More than 1.82 million people used public transport on New Year’s Eve

Dubai: More than 1.82 million people used public transport in Dubai on New Year’s Eve, an increase from the 1.74 million that used it last year, the Roads and Transpot Authourity revealed.

Dubai Metro transported 822,212 people on New Year’s Eve compared to 763,974 people last year on the same day.

Dubai Tram transported 31,057 people compared to 22,104 in January 2015, while 376,356 people took the public buses compared to 374,208 last year.

Taxis made 549,903 trips compared to 538,246 last year, and marine transports saw 47,529 passengers using it as opposed to 43,313 last year.
