Abu Dhabi: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Friday received a telephone call from US President Barack Obama.

They discussed bilateral relations and emphasised the deep relations between the UAE and US. They discussed ways to bolster the ties to serve the interests of both countries.

Shaikh Mohammad and Obama also spoke about recent developments in the Middle East, particularly the Syrian crisis. They exchanged views on the Syrian crisis, specifically regarding efforts to resolve the issue.

They also discussed issues related to extremism and terrorism.

Shaikh Mohammad and Obama stressed the importance of unifying efforts to battle terrorism. They agreed on the importance of the Islamic coalition to combat terrorist groups. They said that such a step complements actions being taken to consolidate foundations of security and peace in the region.

They also discussed developments in Yemen and efforts to reach a political solution through the ongoing dialogue being held in Geneva.

Visit

Earlier, Shaikh Mohammad visited the home of Mohammad Saleh Al Ameri in Al Ain.

The visit is in line with Shaikh Mohammad’s keenness to interact with Emiratis and inquire about their wellbeing.

Shaikh Mohammad exchanged talks with Al Ameri and his family, and inquired about their conditions. The family prayed for continued peace and security for the UAE and for the success of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan in achieving more development and growth for the UAE and its citizens.

Al Ameri expressed his gratitude for the visit, and said that it reflects the UAE wise leadership’s keenness to interact with Emiratis and follow-up on their wellbeing.

Shaikh Mohammad was accompanied by shaikhs and officials.
