Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has ordered the release of 1,014 prisoners of different nationalities from Dubai’s correctional and punitive establishments, ahead of Ramadan.

The Attorney-General of Dubai, Chancellor Essam Eisa Al Humaidan, said that Shaikh Mohammad’s order to pardon the prisoners will bring happiness to their families, and help the pardoned individuals get a fresh start in life and support them in reintegrating into the community.

Al Humaidan said that the order will have a positive impact on the community, as it will give the pardoned prisoners a chance to re-join their families and friends and begin a new chapter in their lives.

The Attorney-General also said that the public prosecution has commenced the legal procedures to implement Shaikh Mohammad’s order.

In Ras Al Khaimah, His Highness Shaikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, pardoned 363 prisoners. Shaikh Mohammad Bin Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah and Chairman of the Judicial Council, ordered the relevant authorities to coordinate and carry out the necessary measures to implement the orders of Shaikh Saud.
