UAE Vice President Mohammad Bin Rashid meets Egyptian President

Vice President briefs Egyptian delegation on the UAE's experience in developing and implementing long-term strategies

Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, met  visiting Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al Sissi and a delegation accompanying him at the Executive Office on Tuesday.

Shaikh Mohammad and President Al Sissi discussed bilateral relations. Crown Prince of Dubai, His Highness Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Deputy Ruler of Dubai His Highness Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum attended the meeting.

Shaikh Mohammad affirmed that a stronger Egypt supports the Arab world, adding that Emirati-Egyptian relations are based on the brotherhood, partnership and mutual understanding that was established by Shaikh Zayed and developed by Shaikh Khalifa.

Shaikh Mohammad welcomed the Egyptian President in the UAE, indicating that Egypt, its people and leadership are partners of the UAE especially in the fields of education, culture and economy.

Shaikh Mohammad and the visiting Egyptian President discussed cooperation between the UAE and Egypt for the benefit of both nations. His Highness affirmed the importance of expanding and diversifying cooperation in the areas of economy, investment and development.

Strategy 2021

Shaikh Mohammad briefed President El Sisi on UAE Strategy 2021 and the government's efforts to enhance UAE's global status and competiveness through a number of organisations that work in harmony.

The Vice President also briefed the Egyptian delegation on the UAE's experience in developing and implementing long-term strategies, establishing robust systems and KPIs to monitor government performance, preparing the new generation of leaders and developing programmes to enhance capabilities in quality control and innovation in the government sector.

Shaikh Mohammad also briefed the Egyptian delegation on UAE's e-government programme and plans to transform government services into smart services.

Shaikh Mohammad bin Rashid expressed his confidence that Egypt, under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah Al Sissi, is on the path to stability and prosperity so that it can play its important role in the region.

The meeting was also attended by Shaikh Ahmad bin Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of Mohammad bin Rashid al Maktoum Foundation; Mohammad Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs; Dr. Sultan Ahmad Al Jaber, Minister of State, Chairman of the UAE-Funded Development Projects in Egypt; Mohammad Al Dhahiri, UAE Ambassador to Egypt; and Khalifa Saeed Suleiman, Director General of Dubai Protocol and Hospitality Department.
