Mohammad Bin Rashid holds brainstorming session

Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has stressed the importance of following up and monitoring the government’s readiness to adopt a culture of innovation, in order to benefit from ideas proposed in all bodies.

Shaikh Mohammad made the statement as he chaired a brainstorming session with his work team at Emirates Towers. Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince, and Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, were present.

Shaikh Mohammad said that the awards proposed by the government need to be changed on an annual basis in order to keep abreast with changes. He added that this will help motivate everyone towards adopting new ideas. Shaikh Mohammad also emphasised the importance of continuously speeding up the process for preparing new leaders in order to keep abreast with rapid changes witnessed in all fields.

Shaikh Mohammad said that his job as a leader is to extract the best ideas from all work teams and to transform the best of these ideas to reality in order to benefit people.

As Shaikh Mohammad reviewed his team’s ideas, he underscored the importance of continuing the smart government project, which he said must proceed in a way that keeps abreast with technological and scientific changes witnessed around the world.

Shaikh Mohammad also discussed his team’s preparations for innovation week, which will take place in February. “Innovation week is a key phase in the strategy of innovation launched by President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. It is important to find practical ideas that can be quickly implemented and improve government services,” said Shaikh Mohammad.

Shaikh Mohammad reviewed progress on initiatives that he recently launched for the Arab Reading Challenge. Shaikh Mohammad stressed the importance of the challenge in establishing a culture for reading in coming generations. Shaikh Mohammad then reviewed work progress on various ideas pertaining to the General Secretariat of the UAE Cabinet, the Cabinet’s office, Shaikh Mohammad’s Executive Office and the Mohammad Bin Rashid Global Initiative Foundation.

Also present during the meeting were Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of Executive Office of Shaikh Mohammad, and other officials.
