Mobile refreshment vans for workers in Dubai

IACAD distributes around 13,000 water and juice bottles daily in a new project

Dubai: In a new welfare initiative for basic service workers Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai (IACAD) has launched its “mobile refreshment vans” to distribute refreshment around various markets and construction site.

The project involves four vans distributing more than 13,000 bottles of water, juice, drinking yogurt and biscuit everyday in construction sites, public markets, such as vegetable and fish markets, Naif market, and public parking lots from 9am to 3pm.

Ali Al Mansouri, Deputy CEO of Charitable Work Sector stated, “The project is executed by Zakat and Charity Affairs Office in Charitable Work Sector in IACAD in response to the call of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to take care of basic service employees. It aims to develop the charitable work in society, which is one of the department’s functions.”

The vans work from Sunday to Thursday and the project will last until September 30, while it will start next year from the first of May.
