The man was caught red-handed by the police
Muscat: One person was arrested by the Royal Oman Police for committing 55 theft crimes as well as vandalising some local shops in Muscat.
The accused was caught red-handed in Bausher province when he tried to steal from a local shop, according to a statement from the ROP.
Some stolen cash and tools he used to commit theft crimes were found in his possession.
The accused stole from houses, laundries, construction firms and restaurants in Muscat.
Legal action has been taken the accused.
Oman police advised people to report crimes to the nearest police station.
Meanwhile, one national was arrested over fraud charges against a number of women in Muscat. He is suspected of conning women into a love trap to extract money from them, promising to marry them.
He used social media to establish relationships with the victims with the help of his cousin. Later, he would ask his victims for cash, saying he was in dire financial conditions.
The case of the accused has been sent to the Public Prosecution for further investigation and trial.
