Dubai: A slew of new attractions awaits you at Miracle Garden when it reopens after the summer break on October 15.

Sylvie Siddik, administration manager of Akar Landscaping, the company behind Miracle Garden, said: “It will be a totally new experience for visitors. They will be stunned when they come here.”

A lowdown on some of the highlights in the new-look garden shows why it’s not an idle boast.

Fragrant village

The number of flowers has been doubled since February when the garden first opened. What’s more, there’s even an enchanting flower village comprising 10 flower houses and a large “palace” decked with a mind-boggling variety of flowers, including sunflowers that track the sun’s movement.

No forbidden fruits here

Visitors to this section can pluck and eat fruit and vegetables such as strawberries, tomatoes, lettuce, without worrying about being chased by the gardener. “The fruits and vegetables have been planted in a manner whereby we can add more stocks as and when needed,” said Siddik.

Smells good

The Aromatic Garden allows visitors to see rare aromatic and medicinal plants from around the world. They will be allowed to touch, smell and even make their own cup of herbal tea fresh from the garden.

Floral clock

Yet another unmissable attraction is a 15-metre floral clock made out of real plants and flowers with designs that change according to the season. The mechanical parts of the clock were imported from the US and its design was developed by Akar Landscaping.

Butterfly park

The Butterfly Park, spread over 1,800 square metres, will open in November. This section comprises nine domes each featuring a different butterfly species. It also includes a butterfly museum where visitors can marvel at exhibits of some of the largest and weirdest arthropods.

Petal pedals

If you are looking for a photo opportunity, take a walk to this place where seven boats made of flowers are anchored in a lake, also made of flowers. Another fascinating sight here is a flower tunnel and a wall emblazoned with names of countries.

Play time

A range of activities has been arranged to keep kids occupied.

Souvenir shop

For those who want to take the memory home, there is a souvenir shop. And lest you get hungry, you can grab a bite at the food outlets. Parking shouldn’t be a concern as there is ample space.
