God, I'm so relieved! Reema Saffarini gets a range of excited reactions from the fourth and smallest batch of girls to graduate from Zayed University
One hundred and twenty seven students bid farewell to the halls and classes of Zayed University as they accepted their degree certificates at a graduation ceremony held last week in Abu Dhabi.
Her Highness Shaikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Al Nahyan honoured the fourth and smallest batch to graduate from Zayed University.
"Every graduation gives us the pleasure of reaping benefits of the excellent accomplishments of our wonderful, esteemed graduates and the opportunity to reassert that education is the means to growth and development and our primary resource to surmount future challenges," said Shaikha Alyazia Bint Saif Bin Mohammad Al Nahyan, wife of Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, on behalf of Shaikha Fatima.
Business administration graduate Mahra Al Darmaki and IT graduate Souad Al Shamisi received the President's Cup, awarded every year to two students from the university's Abu Dhabi and Dubai campuses.
Al Darmaki also gave the valedictory speech.
Twenty-two of the graduates were chosen to join the Shaikha Fatima Bint Mubarak League for graduates who have excelled academically and taken part in extracurricular activities.

"On thinking back, now that I have graduated, it is very important to choose a major that you like, not what your friends have chosen. Do what you like best and manage your time."
- Eman Abdullah, communication technology graduate
"God I am so relieved! The last year has been very busy and tough. I have been working for four months now. My advice for those just joining college? Enjoy it for four years. Don't make it five!"
- Khadija Saleh, graphic design graduate and a Gulf News staff member
"I am honestly relieved, but at the same time I am going to miss the university. Now we've all become more responsible as we've taken a step into the future. I work as a sales and services representative in a bank."
- Nihal Al Ansari, graphic design graduate
"I am already working. The transition from college to work is not a big deal, especially since I worked during the summer; I know what to expect. I am going to miss hanging out with my friends though."
- Amira Al Najjar, communication technology graduate
"At last I have accomplished something. I have already started working as a chemical analyst. I have enjoyed my years in college; so for those entering now enjoy it as much as you can. It is not only about hard work but also about making friends."
- Amal Al Radi, biology and chemistry graduate
