Sara faced storm of protest for making baseless accusations about the Prophet Mohammad
Dubai: Kuwait’s public prosecution has summoned Sara Al Idris over tweets deemed offensive to Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), Kuwaiti reports said.
In her tweet, Sara criticised the Prophet’s marriage to Safiya. In response, she was attacked by religious scholars and citizens online for insulting the Prophet.
Sara justified her tweet by saying she was quoting a book which included sayings of the Prophet. Scholars refuted her arguments as baseless and she deleted her tweet and apologised.
Sara was previously sentenced to jail for posting tweets over comments deemed offensive to the Emir, but she was later pardoned.
