Abu Dhabi: President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Monday received at Al Diyafa Palace His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, who came to greet him on the occasion of the 42nd UAE National Day.
Shaikh Khalifa received Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi of Sharjah, Shaikh Hamad Bin Mohammad Al Sharqi of Fujairah, Shaikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi of Ajman, Shaikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi of Ras Al Khaimah, and Shaikh Saud Bin Rashid Al Mualla of Umm Al Quwain.
General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, was present.
At the beginning of the meeting, Shaikh Khalifa and Rulers of the Emirates congratulated Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid on Dubai’s victory to host World Expo 2020, and stressed that such a win is a huge leap in the UAE’s march of achievements, which began with its establishment.
Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid dedicated the victory to Shaikh Khalifa, rulers and the people of the UAE, and said that the win is a result of the great achievements that were accomplished by the UAE and its people thanks to the backing received by the wise leadership of Shaikh Khalifa.
Shaikh Khalifa and the Rulers exchanged greetings on the occasion of the UAE National Day. The Rulers extended their warmest greetings to Shaikh Khalifa, and wished him good health to continue the UAE’s march of prosperity and development, which would lead to more achievements for the UAE and its people.
Shaikh Khalifa also received Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince, Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Shaikh Mohammad Bin Hamad Bin Mohammad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, Shaikh Ammar Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, Shaikh Mohammad Bin Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah, and Shaikh Rashid Bin Saud Bin Rashid Al Mualla, Crown Prince of Umm Al Quwain.
Also greeting Shaikh Khalifa and the Rulers were Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Mohammad Ahmad Al Murr, Federal National Council Speaker, ministers and senior officials.
The reception was attended by Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, Shaikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor, Shaikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth, and Community Development, and other shaikhs.
Later, Shaikh Khalifa honoured a number of figures who served the UAE and played an effective role in developing the UAE’s march.
Shaikh Khalifa honoured them with the President’s Appreciation Award in the presence of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad and their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, Crown Princes, ministers and other senior officials.
Shaikh Khalifa stressed the UAE’s pride and appreciation for the national efforts of Emiratis that contributed to the march of the UAE.
He said that such efforts had the greatest impact on the UAE occupying an advanced status on a regional and global level.
Shaikh Khalifa added that the great contributions of the honoured figures will remain a beacon of light for the UAE’s march in order to achieve an even more progressive status for the prosperity and welfare of citizens.
He pointed out that the aim of the award is to elevate these figures to higher and more honourable ranks, complementing their accomplishments and contributions for the UAE, which is currently celebrating the 42nd anniversary of UAE National Day.
Shaikh Khalifa added that it is an obligation to appreciate and recognise the efforts of figures who work diligently to serve the UAE for the welfare, security and prosperity of citizens.
