Al Ain (WAM) President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan yesterday received His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, at Al Rawda Palace in Al Ain.

During the meeting, Shaikh Khalifa was briefed by Shaikh Mohammad on the results of the third Arab Social and Economic Development Summit that was recently held in Riyadh.

Later, Shaikh Khalifa, in the presence of Shaikh Mohammad, separately received Oraz Murad Qurban, Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to the UAE, and Ali Fahd Al Rashid, Speaker of the Kuwaiti National Assembly.

Qurban delivered to Shaikh Khalifa a letter from Turkmenistan’s President Kurbanguly Berdymukhamedov. The letter included an invitation for Shaikh Khalifa to visit Turkmenistan. Shaikh Khalifa accepted the invitation, with the date for his visit to be decided later.

In the meeting with Ali, Shaikh Khalifa stressed the strength of brotherly relations between the UAE and Kuwait. Ali expressed his happiness in visiting the UAE and meeting Shaikh Khalifa, and congratulated the president on the UAE national football team’s victory in the 21st Gulf Cup, which was recently held in Bahrain.

In turn, Ali praised the depth of bilateral relations between the UAE and Kuwait. He conveyed to Shaikh Khalifa the greetings of Kuwaiti Emir Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah. Shaikh Khalifa conveyed to Ali his greetings to the Kuwaiti Emir, and wishes for more progress and prosperity for Kuwait and its people.

The meeting was attended by Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, Shaikh Sultan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President’s Representative, and other Shaikhs and senior officials.
