Police identify culprits from footage on surveillance camera at the shop
Sharjah: Police have launched a manhunt for two suspects in connection with a robbery reported at Al Mamzer pharmacy in Al Tauwain area of Sharjah. One of the robbers threatened employees at the pharmacy with a knife and asked them to hand over all the money in their possession, an official at Sharjah Police told Gulf News.
An official from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) said the duo, who were wearing masks, with one wearing Pakistani attire, fled the scene after they had emptied the cash box at the pharmacy. They made their getaway in a vehicle before the matter was reported to police.
One of the employees at the pharmacy was putting away the money prior to closing the shop when the robbers barged into the shop in the early hours of on Monday.
Police have formed a team to trace and arrest the culprits.
Police said the operation room received a complaint at 1 am.
Police were able to identify the attackers through footage from a surveillance camera installed at the pharmacy.
Police have urged people running businesses not to leave any valuables or large amounts of cash on their premises and to ensure that their businesses have adequate security.
