Ajman: More than 150 doctors, nurses and medics from across the UAE are expected to attend the National Conference on Internal Medicine at the Gulf Medical University (GMU) in Ajman on January 12.
The conference will focus on the recent advances in gastroenterology, cardiology, pulmonology, dermatology and hematology and their related disorders at clinical and research levels.
“We wish to provide an interactive platform for doctors, scientists and health care organisations and medical and pharmaceutical companies so as to formulate co-axial strategies to enhance medical care,” said Professor Shaikh Altaf Basha, the chairman of the scientific committee.
The conference will also include lectures on various topics by medical experts from across the country.
The Management and Academic Leadership of GMU has also decided to bestow a ‘Special Award and Honour’ at the conference. In recognition of their achievements in the field of medicine and for their service to the community, leading internal medicine specialists from the UAE will be honoured by Shaikh Rashid Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, chairman of Ajman Municipality and Planning Department, in an award ceremony that will take place on the same day at 11am at the university campus.
The conference is being organised by the Department of Internal Medicine in GMC Hospital in Ajman and is accredited by the Ministry of Health. Health care professionals who are interested in participating can register online at www.gmu.ac.ae.
