One can visualise an LG executive in the research and development department, one hand clutching a doughnut, the other on his mouse and a document in front of him marked "Urgent-scan". Imagine his predicament. After a minute of contemplation, and a lengthy overexcited product presentation to the guys upstairs, the Mouse Scanner was born.

The name is self-explanatory. The Mouse Scanner is, well, a mouse that scans. It is jam-packed with many key features besides the usual boring left-clicks, right-clicks and up-and-down scrolling that has now become obsolete for us new-gen tech-geeks.

It can scan documents up to A3 in size with adjustable resolutions of 320/200 and 100 dpi. Images can be saved in all major image formats as well as PDF, XLS and DOC formats. It also supports optical character recognition that converts text on scanned images into interactive machine-encoded text on the computer.

As silly as this product seems, let's face it, it's instantly desirable. Price: Dh500.
