There’s something wonderfully exciting about the Lenovo Yoga. It’s a great combination of sleek hardware and the Windows 8 operating system (OS). The Yoga is small, well built and doesn’t feel cumbersome, whether used as an ultrabook, tablet or with its keyboard as a stand in an inverted-V format. The Yoga will bring a bit of corporate-ness to any four walls it visits.

Its hardware is top-notch. The 360-degree hinges that allow it to take various shapes are firm and reassuring to the touch. The Yoga’s 13.3-inch, capacitive multitouch screen is crisp, bright and responsive. This is the first time I have used a touch screen on a laptop and it’s a thing of great beauty and ease. You can also pinch and zoom your way through the many apps (Skype, Evernote Touch, Kindle, etc.) that come preloaded using the equally responsive trackpad. The keypad should be comfortable to use for all users. The volume and power buttons are on the side and front, and can be operated irrespective of the shape the Yoga is being used in. The Yoga’s biggest secret is the Windows 8 OS and I reckon there are few machines as good as this one to experience it on.

It comes with third-generation Intel Core i7-3537U/i7-3517U/i5-3317U/i3-3217U processors, Windows 8 and Windows 8 Pro OS, 4GB and 8GB DDR3 memory, a battery life of up to eight hours and weight of 1.5kg and upwards. It also has USB 3.0, USB 2.0, HDMI, a headphone/mic combo jack and a 2-in-1 card reader (SD/MMC).
