Manama: Maronite Patriarch Bechara Boutros Al Rahi is making an unprecedented visit to Saudi Arabia on Monday.
The visit is upon an invitation from King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud.
“It will be one of the most important official visits to the Kingdom. It will be historical,” Waleed Bukhari, the Saudi chargé d’affaires in Lebanon, said as he conveyed the invitation to Al Rahi early this month.
The Patriarch will meet King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman.
Sources close to the Patriarch reportedly said he would stress that Lebanon's policy is to distance itself from conflicts in the region.
