Saudi interior ministry says financial dispute led to murder
Manama: A Filipino convicted of killing a Sudanese national was executed in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.
Joselito Lyda San was found guilty of hitting Saleh Imam Ebrahim with a hammer on his head and stealing his money following a financial dispute, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
Following an investigation launched by the authorities, Joselito was arrested and referred to a general court where he was sentenced to death. The Court of Appeal and the High Court endorsed the capital punishment. The execution was carried out in the capital Riyadh, the official news agency said.
The interior ministry in its statement said that the government was keen on the prevalence of security and on carrying out justice against those who kill others.
