Father denies molesting, abusing his 2 daughters

Dubai A father went before a Dubai court Tuesday on charges of sexually abusing his daughters, aged 16 and 12, for more than a year.

The 40-year-old man is alleged to have abused his 16-year-old daughter whenever she arrived home after school.

The father is also alleged to have repeatedly molested and sexually abused his 12-year-old daughter in the guest reception area.

According to the charge sheet, prosecutors accused the suspect of “deceiving his teenaged daughters and luring them to his bedroom where he abused them sexually”.

The defendant, who is in custody, denied the charges and pleaded not guilty when he showed up before the Dubai Court of First Instance on Tuesday.

“I did not do that,” the suspect told the judge.

Sources close to the case told Gulf News that the suspect is alleged to have “intimated his daughters by warning them that if they told anyone what he had been doing he would be jailed and the family would be broken”.

The girls’ mother claimed to prosecutors that she had discovered what was going on “by coincidence” when she found on her husband’s mobile some photos of her daughters who were undressed while sleeping.

“I discovered that he had been taking snaps of them partly dressed while sleeping. I also found a video footage of him abusing our 12-year-old daughter sexually while she was begging him to stop. There was also indecent footage of the two girls. When I confronted him, he admitted [to his crime]. Meanwhile, when I discussed the issue with my 16-year-old daughter and asked if she had been aware that the suspect had been abusing her younger sister, she told me that he constantly came and took her 12-year-old sister from the room. Then, when she [16-year-old girl] discussed the issue with her younger sister, the latter told her shyly that their father behaved indecently and inappropriately with her. When I asked my daughter why hadn’t she notified me about that before, she claimed that the suspect had warned her not to tell anybody otherwise we [her parents] would divorce and the family would be destroyed and that he would be jailed,” claimed the mother.

The elder daughter was quoted as telling prosecutors that her father used to call her to his bedroom where he used to force her to undress and abuse her.

The 16-year-old was quoted as telling prosecutors that the suspect abused her once a week in his bedroom and that the last time he molested her was in Ramadan.

Shortly after the mother discovered the incident she reported the father to the nearest police station, the source told Gulf News.

During Tuesday’s hearing, the defendant’s lawyer asked the presiding judge to adjourn the case until studying the case file.
