Family of 3 killed in Sharjah car crash

Accident took place on the top of bridge 7 on Emirates Road in Sharjah

Sharjah: An Emirati family of three died in a car accident on Saturday morning after the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a road barrier.

The accident, which involved only a single car, occurred on the top of bridge seven at Emirates Road in Sharjah.

Besides the three family members who died, including the driver, another two were injured. Police estimated the driver was about 20 years old. A 50-year-old woman and a 14-year-old girl also died in the accident. The bodies were transferred to Al Qasimi Hospital.

“Another woman and her child were also injured in the accident,” a Sharjah Police official told Gulf News on Saturday. “They were taken to Al Qasimi Hospital. They are reported to be in stable condition.”

Sharjah Police have launched an investigation into the accident.

Sharjah Police have urged all motorists to drive carefully and adhere to speed limits.
