Dubai:  The Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) is returning this year with loads of prizes up for grabs, including 75 brand-new cars and cash that could reach approximately Dh5 million.

Organisers of the annual retail bonanza confirmed on Sunday that two of its prize campaigns, the Infiniti Mega Raffle and the Nissan Grand Raffle, will kick off tomorrow, October 15, 2018.

A regular fixture in Dubai’s retail calendar, the festival isn’t just synonymous with bargains and entertainment, but also with generous prizes.

The 24th edition of DSF will officially begin on December 26 and end on January 26, 2019, but tickets to the raffle draws will be offered up for sale starting tomorrow, more than two months in advance.

Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Group CEO of Enoc said that 36 Nissan cars and 39 Infiniti cars will be given  away to raffle participants.

Infiniti raffle

In the Infiniti mega raffle, one lucky winner will get to drive home an Infiniti QX50 and bag Dh150,000 in cash.

Tickets to the draw cost Dh200 each and they’re available at select Eppco and Enoc petrol stations, Zoom stores, Dubai Metro stations, kiosks at main streets, shopping malls, Gold Souk and the Global Village.

Every week, at total of Dh100,000 in cash will be given away to five winners and by the end of the festival, a cash prize worth Dh500,000 will go to a lucky participant.

Based on the initial information provided by the organisers, cash prizes could run up to more than Dh5 million.

Cash prizes to be won:

Dh150,000 daily
Dh100,000 weekly (to be given away to five winners at Dh20,000 each)
Dh500,000, which will be given to one winner at the conclusion of the festival

Nissan raffle

In the Nissan grand raffle, seven brand-new cars will be given away. Up for grabs will be a Nissan Sunny sedan, Sentra, KICKS, Altima, Xtrail, Pathfinder and Patrol.

To get the chance to win, shoppers only need to spend Dh20 on non-fuel purchases at Enoc, Eppco petrol stations and Zoom stores.

A Nissan Sentra will also be given away every weekend for four weeks starting December 1 in the lead up to DSF, totaling to four Sentras.

The winners of the two daily DSF mega raffles will be announced at the Global Village and broadcast live from 9pm to 10pm daily on Sama Dubai TV.

DSF has been regarded as a key driver of consumption in the UAE. Since it started in February 16, 1996, consumer spending during the retail event has been on the rise.

Studies have shown that people tend to swipe their cards or open their wallets more during the shopping festival.

Data from Network International showed that card spending volumes during DSF increased by 6.75 per cent in 2018 compared to 2017.
