Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department has announced that 2015 will be the year to educate children about the law.

‘By knowledge we protect them’ comes under the directives of Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Judicial Department

This initiative comes in the framework of the department’s orientation towards providing an effective contribution to achieving the vision of Abu Dhabi 2030. It depends on building a secure society through the provision of teaching children about the law and providing educational guidance for parents and teachers about the best ways of raising children to respect the law. The aim is that they will be law-abiding adults by 2030.

The announcement came during a meeting where Yousuf Saeed Al Ibri, Director of the Judicial Department, received a number of children on Thursday in Abu Dhabi on the occasion of Universal Children’s Day.

He stressed that children are an important part of society and the centre of development and plans in various political, social and economic aspects. Their security is a reflection of society’s security.

The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department said that the activities are aimed at children aged four to nine in the first cycle, and from 10 to 14 in the second cycle, in addition to workshops for parents and teachers.
