Abu Dhabi: Two thousand books were sold out in the first two hours of the “pre-loved stories and book festival” during this weekend at The Mall at World Trade Center Abu Dhabi (WTCAD).

The proceeds from the total number of the sold-out books will be donated to the charity ‘Wanna Read?’, The Mall said in a press release on Sunday.

Selling out all the books on the first day of the festival was a remarkable achievement, it said.

As part of its commitment to the UAE’s Year of Giving, The Mall in collaboration with ‘Wanna Read?’, the charity led by Shaikha Shamma Bint Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, and ‘Al Bayt Al Arabi’, a language institution, organised the event for children and book lovers.

The three-day festival with shadow theatre, puppet making, calligraphy workshops, cultural sessions and private book reading sessions from prominent Emirati authors offered a new experience to families.
