Dubai: As the UAE approaches cooler winter days, temperatures are dropping, giving residents a long-awaited respite from scorching days of summer, said the national weather centre on Thursday.
The country will experience partly cloudy skies and cooler weather in general in the next two days, according to the National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS).
Maximum temperatures could dip as low as 19 Celsius in the mountainous areas of the UAE on Friday while minimum temperature forecast called for a range of between 12C-18C.
Along UAE’s coastal areas, maximum daily temperatures may range on Friday anywhere between 26C-30C with a minimum temperature forecast of 19C-21C.
Inland, temperatures on Friday will differ than coastal and mountain extremes with the maximum forecast ranging from 29C-32C and minimum temps hitting 14C-19C, said meteorologists.
For Friday, forecasters said the UAE can expect, “partly cloudy weather in general, with a gradual drop in temperatures. Moderate winds to become fresh by afternoon over the sea in specific [areas]. The relative humidity will increase during night and early morning over some internal and coastal areas with a chance of mist/fog formation. Sea is rough to very rough in Arabian Gulf, and moderate in Oman Sea.”
The extended forecast through to Saturday calls for “partly cloudy weather in general. Fresh to strong northwesterly wind especially over the sea and open land areas may cause rising dust and poor visibility over open lands. Sea is rough to very rough in Arabian Gulf, and moderate in Oman Sea may become rough at times by night.”
Wind projections could range between 20km-28km/h in all areas of the country.
Humidity over the next couple of days is a mixed bag depending on the area ranging from a maximum of 70-95 per cent along the coast to 60-85 per cent in mountainous areas.
