Northwesterly winds bring cold breeze but temperatures will rise a little by Thursday

Dubai: Enjoy the chilly mornings until Wednesday as temperatures are expected to increase a little again by Thursday coupled with mostly sunny weather.

Residents woke to a cold Tuesday morning accompanied by light showers in some parts of the country, including Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The lowest temperature recorded in the country on Tuesday morning was 2.6°C in Jebel Jais Mountain at 5.45am, according to the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology.

Northwesterly winds will continue to affect the country, bringing cold breeze for two days on Tuesday and Wednesday and increasing cloud cover.

Coastal areas on Tuesday will continue to have partially cloudy weather, while internal areas in the central part of the country such as Sweihan and Al Ain will be mostly sunny. Winds will kick up dust in the western interior parts of Mukhariz, Owtaid, and Mezeira.

The mercury is expected to rise by a few degrees on Thursday. The temperature in the coldest part of the country so far on Tuesday, Jebel Jais, for example, will increase from 5°C to 19°C on Tuesday to 14°C to 22°C on Thursday.
