Dubai: Residents who love the outdoors may enjoy the three-day holiday as the UAE weather will be partly cloudy over some areas with chances of rainfall over the mountains.

“There are chances of clouds developing in the afternoon over this three-day holiday, some of these clouds are towering cumulous clouds that may be associated with rain over the mountains,” a forecaster told Gulf News. It was drizzling in parts of Sharjah on Wednesday afternoon, residents told Gulf News.

Meanwhile, the forecaster clarified that the cloud formation, associated with rainfall, over the eastern part of the country is due to the easterly wind and is not related to the depression in the Arabian Sea.

“It’s [depression] far from our area [of responsibility]. As of now, it may only affect Oman, the eastern shore. The depression is now in its decaying stage,” the forecaster said.

The nearest cloud band of the depression was spotted 460km off the coast of Oman overlooking the Arabian Sea, according to the latest weather maps and satellite images of the Directorate General of Meteorology of Oman 9pm on Tuesday.

Weather in the UAE is expected to be sunny to partly cloudy and may be hazy at times on Thursday. Temperatures will be below 40 degrees Celsius.

Fujairah will have temperatures ranging from 28 degrees Celcius to 35 degrees Celcius. It will be partly cloudy with a chance of heavy rain. Al Ain’s weather will be similar, with a chance of some showers, and temperatures of between 25 degrees Celcius to 35 degrees Celcius.

Moderate winds will blow in general, freshening at times, causing some blowing dust.

The Arabian Gulf will be moderate while Oman Sea will be rough.

The relative humidity will increase during night and early morning over some of coastal and internal areas, with a chance of fog or mist formation, especially towards the west.
