Abu Dhabi: Yas Island has been participating at SATTE, South Asia’s leading travel and tourism event, in Delhi over the past three days.

The event gave Yas Island access to more than 7,500 qualified buyers and serious trade visitors where plans of going digital in India were also discussed.

Representing Yas Island at SATTE, Karim Al Guanaini, vice-president of Yas Island Destination Management, said, “We are currently working on our first Yas Island digital store for India, a similar concept to what we have on Expedia. This initiative is a reflection of our dedication to the Indian and South Asian markets. We value the existing and potential business from these markets and will continue to enhance the overall experience for both business and leisure travellers.”

In collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority, Yas Island reached out to South Asia’s tour operators and travel agents. Its aim was to create awareness about its offerings and prospective opportunities at the biggest networking forum for the travel and tourism industry in South Asia.

“Yas Island has definitely become an attractive destination for the Indian market due to its proximity, ease of access from airports in both Abu Dhabi and Dubai, wide range of flexible services and exciting attractions. This has aided South Asia to become one of our top five producers to Yas Island in both leisure and business volume,” concluded Al Guanaini.

Following its successes at SATTE, Yas Island will roll out an interactive road-show in India later this year. It will see major trade engagement to demonstrate to customers what Yas Island has to offer.
