Dubai: Rixos Hotels is on a major expansion mode and is set to add 10 luxury properties to its portfolio between this year and early 2015.

One of the hospitality projects slated for opening this year, the Rixos Flüela Davos, a luxury resort located in the Swiss Alps, started welcoming its guests last month. The hotel is 175 kilometres away from Zurich airport and within walking distance from the most popular and renowned ski resorts of Pischa and Jakobshom.

The hotel chain is also opening another property, the Rixos Krasnaya Polyana in Sochi, Russia this month. The 114-room hotel offers views overlooking the Caucasus mountains and the city centre.

The Antalya-based hotel group owns and operates premium resorts and villas including city hotels in key regions like Turkey, Europe, CIS countries, North Africa and Middle East.

Marking its second foray into the UAE market, the soon-to-open Rixos Bab Al Bahr in Ras Al Khaimah will feature 14 multi-dining food and beverage venues, ranging from exclusive to specialty all the way to casual. The property comprises of three pyramid-shaped buildings, and the rooms offer views of the Arabian Gulf.
