Ras Al Khaimah: His Highness Shaikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, has said that emirate’s ambition to achieve a leading position at the world tourism map in the coming years, is based on its promising tourist potential, distinguished geographical location and large tourist projects being implemented within the future plans.

He made his remarks on the eve of opening the Waldorf Astoria, Ras Al Khaimah, a group of hotels and resorts of Waldorf-Astoria in the UAE, a subsidiary of Hilton Worldwide.

Among those who attended the ceremony were Shaikh Salem Bin Sultan Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chairman of Civil Aviation Department of Ras Al Khaimah, Shaikh Mohammad Bin Kayed Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Economic Development, Shaikh Abdullah Bin Humaid Bin Abdullah Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Office of the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, Christopher J. Nassetta, President and CEO of Hilton Worldwide, the US Ambassador to the UAE, Michael Corbin and other senior officials.

Shaikh Saud said that tourism is one of the most important economic and social sectors that plays a leading role in the development of the countries, citing the important role of tourism in enhancing the country’s economy.

Shaikh Saud, who was accompanied by a number of officials, later toured the hotel halls and sections.
