Dubai: The Polish Tourist Organisation said in a statement on Monday it is promoting Poland as a new travel destination for UAE residents.
“With daily direct flights between Poland’s capital Warsaw and Dubai with daily flights by Emirates, and Doha with daily flights with Qatar Airways, visitors from the Gulf states and beyond can conveniently discover a new holiday destination in Europe,” stated Monika Pasiorowska, senior specialist, marketing planning department at the Polish Tourist Organisation.
Poland features historical monuments, castles and palaces, which are open to the public. It has 13 Unesco sites, such as the Old Towns of Warsaw, Krakow, Torun and Zamość.
The country also hosts cultural festivals, music competitions and outdoor events. It has shopping centres, museums and galleries.
Poland is a destination for active tourism.
“It is a dream come true for water sports enthusiasts thanks to the long coastline, thousands of lakes, and many rivers and channels. It is also a winter sports destination. Poland also offers a large number of golf courses and bike and trekking trails in all kinds of terrain with good conditions for Alpinism due to the diverse types of mountains,” according to the statement.
The country is also a destination for medical tourists. It received half a million medical tourists in 2012, according to the statement. Half of Poland’s foreign patients come from the UK, with many patients also from the US.
