Dubai: Established earlier this year to simplify procedures for motoring tourists driving across borders in the Middle East and worldwide, a new body, the AIT/FIA Customs Council, held its first meeting on Wednesday.

The meet aimed at discussing key issues at border crossings, developing a working plan for the next 12 months, and electing senior officials. The body was established by the Alliance Internationale de Tourisme (AIT) and the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA).
