Dubai: Luxury travel company Ambercrombie & Kent (A&K) will open its second Middle East office in Dubai in the next six months, founder and chief executive Geoffrey Kent said on Monday.

The “sister office” follows the opening of an office in Etihad Towers in Abu Dhabi in January.

Kent, speaking on the sidelines of a press conference in Dubai, said there has been a strong uptake of the company’s services in Abu Dhabi from residents in the region.

A&K successfully migrated much of its client list from its boutique in UK department store Harrods.

On Monday, A&K announced a tie-up with Abu Dhabi-based private jet operator, Royal Jet, for a trip to India.

The luxury travel company, which offers tailor-made itineraries, private and commercial jet bookings, safaris, cruises, among others, will also soon open offices in Hong Kong and in Sao Paolo, Brazil, according to Kent.

The next Mideast office after the Dubai expansion, however, is at least a year away with Kent non-committal on which country to open in next.

He also said that Egypt and Jordan are “bouncing back” for the travel company. He said Americans, Europeans as well as Gulf travellers were all keen on heading to the two countries that have been marred by regional instability in recent years.
