Dubai: Jumeirah Group, the global luxury hospitality company, on Thursday said it has appointed Nicholas Clayton as the group's Chief Operating Officer and that its CEO, Guy Crawford, will retire in June 2012 following a 10-year stint with the company.

Clayton joins Jumeirah Group from the Viceroy Hotel Group where he was President and later CEO, Jumeirah Group said in a statement, adding that he has previously worked with big hotel chains such as Ritz-Carlton and Mandarin Oriental.

Commenting on the senior management changes, Executive Chairman of Jumeirah Group, Gerald Lawless said in a statement: "Nicholas Clayton comes at a time of significant expansion with the company doubling the number of hotels under management from 2011 to 2012 and now having a presence in 11 countries round the globe."
