Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi National Hotels (ADNH) will announce a comprehensive plan, in coordinating with the Abu Dhabi government, to encourage summer tourism.

The target is to increase the number of tourists and visitors to Abu Dhabi during the summer season. Saif Mohammad Al Hajri, Chairman of ADNH, told Gulf News.

"The company continues its commitment to implement the projects within the plan of the Government of Abu Dhabi for the development of the tourism sector in the emirate," he said.

"The company continues to develop its new vision to strengthen its strategy to increase the volume of business and comply with their obligations for the next phase."

He pointed out that ADNH achieved tangible results in the last year and is expected to achieve better results this year, thanks to the support of the board of directors and the efforts of its team of qualified staff and strong relationships with its partners in the country.

Richard Riley, CEO of ADNH, said in a statement after the ceremony that the company plans a promotional campaign in the GCC in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority in the coming weeks. He noted that the campaign would include offers to families in the UAE and the GCC countries to spend their holidays in ADNH hotels at prices to suit everyone.

He expected huge demand for hotels of Abu Dhabi National Hotels this summer due to "the first-rated services and prices that suit families".

He added that the special offers are very suitable for tourism recreation and serve large segments of the families in the UAE and the GCC.

He said that one of the main goals of the promotions offered by Abu Dhabi National Hotels is to revive summer tourism, which was limited in the past to only conferences and exhibitions, and that the company succeeded in putting a new perspective on tourism entertainment in the emirate of Abu Dhabi to attract tourists all year round.

Riley said work on the first water resort by the Abu Dhabi National Hotels in Abu Dhabi, the Grand Canal/Sea Coast project, will hopefully be completed before the end of this year.

He revealed that the investment in the Grand Canal is about Dh5.1 billion, the largest project by ADNH.
