Ajman Ruler issues Emiri decree on regulating operations of tourism, hotel establishments

Ajman: His Highness Shaikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, on Monday issued Emiri Decree No. 5 of 2014 regarding the licensing of tourism and hotel establishments in Ajman.

The decree amends a bylaw in Emiri Decree No. 2 of 2013. The new decree’s bylaw stresses that Ajman’s Tourism Development Department will be the only body that will be responsible for supervising, classifying and licensing any activities related to tourism and hotel establishments. The decree transfers to the department the authority on licences that were issued by and submitted to other relevant governmental bodies prior to the expiry of the previous decree.

Emiri Decree No. 5 forbids the renewal of any licences that were issued prior to the issuance of this decree, as well as the issuance of any new licence to individuals or establishments who not received an preliminary approval or license from the department.
