A brand new destination for honeymooners in Dubai — that’s how the developer of “The Heart of Europe” island cluster is pitching its latest project.

Located 6.5 kilometres off the Dubai coast and a 20-minute ride, the “St Petersburg Island” will be the first dedicated island honeymoon resort in the UAE”, according to Kleindienst, the developer.

Guests will be able to access the island with private transfers by helicopter, seaplane or boat. Bookings will open soon.

Designed in the shape of a heart, the island will be surrounded by 90 “floating seahorse” villas, each connected to the island via floating jetties. There will also be a Honeymoon Hotel on the Main Europe Island — at The Heart of Europe cluster — and set to open at the end of 2018.

Guests can experience life in The Floating Seahorse — billed as the world’s first underwater villa. The property is to feature “totally submerged bedrooms and bathrooms”.

“St Petersburg Island will be a dream destination for couples and newlyweds,” said Josef Kleindienst, Chairman of The Heart of Europe. “The five-star resort will offer privacy, tranquillity and first-class hospitality to ensure a memorable and once in a lifetime experience.

“The honeymoon business is a multi-billion dollar industry and we are excited by the prospect of newly-married couples choosing to spend the most special holiday of their lives at St Petersburg Island very soon.”

The “Island” will have an infinity pool, shallow lagoons, lush tropical gardens and a pool bar and restaurant.
