Dubai: Shoppiesta, the first consumer lifestyle fair in the region, and an official event of ‘Eid in Dubai', was well received on Wednesday by more than 10,000 visitors on its first day
The event was officially inaugurated by Laila Suhail, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Events, an agency of the Dubai Economic Department.
The ceremony was also attended by Ebrahim Saleh, Deputy CEO, and senior officials from Dubai Events and Citron Communications — organisers of the event.
The inaugural ceremony, which was held at the Meydan Grandstand, kicked off five days of shopping, entertainment, adventure sports, daily concerts, and dining for the entire family. This unique event will also see leading retailers, brands, and service providers bring an array of offerings for both visitors and tourists alike.
After a ribbon cutting ceremony, Laila Suhail, accompanied by officials, was led through a red carpet lined by 50 drummers from Dubai Drums and also had her hand imprints on a plaque to commemorate the first edition of Shoppiesta.
Elements of Earth, a show depicting the elements of fire, water, wind and air, was also staged during the ceremony.
