Dubai: The Outlet Village, an outlet mall located adjacent to Dubai Parks and Resorts, will open in the third quarter, Dubai-based holding company Meraas said on Tuesday.

The upscale outlet mall, first announced in 2012, will have 25,000 square metres of gross leasable area featuring over 100 retail brands, according to a press statement.

The Outlet Village will become one of two outlet malls in Dubai after the Dubai Outlet Mall, though the first caters to upscale fashion brands, the statement said.

The design of the mall has been inspired by San Gimignano, a hilltop town in Italy’s Tuscan country side.

“We are thrilled to add another remarkable concept to Dubai’s thriving retail landscape. The Outlet Village brings together striking aesthetics inspired by a rich past with contemporary lifestyle, inviting visitors to explore the contrast between old and new,” Omar Galib Al Bustami, director of Project Management Leisure & Entertainment at Meraas, said in the statement.”

“We have spared no effort to evoke the charm of San Gimignano and ensure that this distinctive shopping experience includes much-loved and prestigious brands to perfectly match the needs of today’s sophisticated customer.”
