Dubai: Kalyan Jewellers has opened a new showroom at Al Nahda, Sharjah, bringing the total in the UAE to10, according to a statement on Thursday.

The store features a wide range of gold and diamond jewellery, including the Turkish, Finja, Antique and Omega collections, as well as traditional Indian and Singaporean gold jewellery designs.

The company has been expanding its presence in the UAE. In the last eight months, it added four new showrooms in the country with a total investment of nearly Dh100 million. It also plans to open more UAE showrooms this year.

“Jewellery demand has been buoyant in the UAE and this showroom at Al Nahda will allow us to reach out to more customers. We have ambitious plans to grow our business in this country and build on our loyal base of over 100,000 customers,” said T.S Kalyanaraman, Chairman and Managing Director of Kalyan Jewellers, in the statement.

It has earmarked investments worth Dh400 million in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries for this financial year ending March 31 2016, where it plans to enter Qatar with six new showrooms and expand into Bahrain. It aims to generate revenues of over Dh2 billion in the region by the end of the financial year.
