Giordano to expand globally next year

Retailer plans to open 10 new stores in the Middle East, Africa and South Asian regions

Dubai:The retailer Giordano plans to open 10 new stores in the Middle East, Africa and South Asian regions in 2016, according to a statement on Sunday.

The seller of men’s, women’s and children’s apparel and accessories has already opened 15 stores in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Zambia, Sri Lanka and Pakistan this year. These are located in Lulu Mall and Jubail Mall in Saudi Arabia and the Shindagha City Centre in Dubai. It has also opened a refurbished store at Dubai’s Mall of the Emirates.

“In recognising the truly dynamic nature of the region, we have opened more than 250 stores within the past two decades. It is essential that Giordano, as a truly customer centric brand, be made accessible across all regions, geographies and cultures,” Ishwar Chugani, Managing Director of Giordano Middle East and Executive Director of Giordano International, said in the statement.

Established in Hong Kong in 1981, Giordano has over 2,800 stores in over 40 countries in the Asia Pacific and Middle East regions. It opened its first store in the Middle East in 1993 in BurJuman. It now operates 240 stores in 23 countries in the region.
