Dubai: The Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment (DEPE) will launch a series of activities to entertain Dubai residents during Eid Al Fitr.

"Eid in Dubai is a social occasion which unites different nationalities from across Dubai in celebration of this one joyous occasion. There is a great deal of anticipation surrounding the planned events, and we are looking forward to hosting families from across the UAE and visitors from around the world for this year's festivities," said Ebrahim Saleh, festivals coordinator, general and deputy CEO of DEPE.

The programme includes performances by a number of Arabic singers, fireworks displays and cultural activities.

Children can enjoy concerts and activities at Modhesh World featuring Arabs Got Talent finalist Hala Al Turk. DEPE will also host the Shoppiesta festival at Meydan with five days of themed concerts and festivities.

Summer in Dubai

Shopping malls and retail outlets across Dubai will offer discounts and Eid offers until September 10.

"We started the ‘Summer in Dubai' campaign with the 14th edition of Dubai Summer Surprises that was followed up by a promotional campaign during Ramadan organised in collaboration with several government and private entities under the name of ‘Ramadan in Dubai'.

"And we conclude the campaign by sharing with you what we have to offer our visitors during ‘Eid in Dubai' noting that ‘Eid in Dubai' celebrations are inspired by the unique cultural and social mosaic of Dubai," said Laila Suhail, CEO of DEPE.

Retail and hospitality sectors will be able to use the official Dubai Calendar website to plan and promote their Eid activities. The site www.dubaicalendar.ae is an online portal through which Dubai government agencies, festival organisers, retailers and charity organisations can schedule and announce promotions and events.
