Dubai: Leading retailers across Dubai are set to open their doors today to a three-day sale, with discounts of up to 90 per cent, according to organiser Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE).
More than 1,000 participating outlets will offer a variety of bargains on 250 brands, including Crate & Barrel, Kurt Geiger, GAP, and Nine West.
According to DFRE, rate cuts will range from 30 per cent to 90 per cent, with this sale being only one of two weekends in the year when shops are authorised to offer such a high discount.
The other occasion is National Day weekend in December. Both are being referred to by DFRE as annual “Super Sales.”
A wide range of merchandise will be on offer, including cosmetics, clothes, fashion accessories, furniture, and jewellery.
Timed to coincide with the beginning of Ramadan and summer holidays, there are hopes that the sale will stimulate the retail sector, a main contributor towards Dubai’s economy. Summer months are typically much quieter, with far fewer tourists visiting Dubai’s malls.
According to a statement from DFRE, the Super Sale will help increase Dubai’s position as a year-round shopping destination.
Shoppers are advised to watch out for signs around malls and shopping centres across the city advertising the sale.
