Dubai: New tenants continue to open up at the Dubai Festival City Mall, currently undergoing a Dh1.5 billion expansion. In the last 12 months, the tally of new openings has crossed 100.

Joining fashion brands Old Navy and Mint Velvet is the maternity wear retailer Seraphine (favoured by Kate Middleton), as well as F&B operators Serendipity 3 and Sugar Factory.

The expanded 2,500-seat food court is bringing in an additional 20 brands to come. Restaurants such as Al Fanar, PF Chang’s and Texas Roadhouse and TGI Fridays are now open, while Eataly is set for mid-March and Cheesecake Factory for mid-year.

“As the transformation of Dubai Festival City Mall continues, we are committed to radically improving the shopping experience for our customers delivering the ultimate food, fashion and entertainment mix in Dubai,” said Chris O’Donnell, Group Director, Al-Futtaim Group Real Estate, the mall’s developer and operator.

“There is so much more to come as we will be introducing more fashion, food and unique concepts to our retail mix.”

Further signings announced recently include the Singapore-based department store Robinsons (launching in March 2017) and the UK high-street retailer John Lewis as an in-store experience.
