DUBAI: Carrefour announced on Thursday that it had launched its Ramadan offers effective from May 4.

The announcement was made during the visit of Dr Hashim Al Nuaimi, director of the Customer Protection Department at the Ministry of Economy, to one of its supermarkets at City Centre Mirdif.

There are a variety of offers and discounts on a wide range of products across all segments. This is all the more attractive considering that more than 175 products are set to have their prices “locked” until the end of the year. Ramadan deals for customers will include discounts of up to 50 per cent on select items across Carrefour stores in the UAE. The total value of the offers is estimated at Dh30 million.

Miguel Povedano, executive regional director for Carrefour UAE at Majid Al Futtaim Retail, said: “In the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan, Carrefour aims to enrich its customers’ shopping experience, fulfil their needs and provide them with competitive value during this special occasion. This month sees growing demand for variety and quantity and our aim is to cater to these needs.”

Carrefour’s promotions will also include daily offers on selected categories across food and non-food products during the month of May in the lead-up to Ramadan. Additionally, there will be daily savings on commodities, especially family items and basket offers worth Dh100, Dh200 and Dh300. Speaking to the press, Al Nuaimi said: “Today, Carrefour tried to make a very strong push for Ramadan, subsidising [commodities for] the consumer. Believe me, I am happy with Carrefour. It’s done its homework.”
