Dubai: Abu Dhabi Airports said on Tuesday that it recorded Dh707.6 million in commercial sales in the first half of this year, up 10.9 per cent year-on-year.

The top performing categories were food and beverage and Duty Free, according to a statement. Other activities also saw growth including speciality retail, hospitality, banking and currency exchange, car parking, advertising and the Skypark Plaza operations.

“The performance is all the more noteworthy given the reduction in Chinese spending, the changing dynamics of the Asian economies, and the currency variations that impact the value for money offered,” said Abu Dhabi Airports’ acting chief commercial officer Dan Cappell in the statement.
