Dubai: The US apparel brand Abercrombie & Fitch (A&F) is finally ready for its UAE debut — the first outlet will open December 26 at the Mall of the Emirates. The first two stores in the Gulf opened in Kuwait earlier this year.

“International expansion in key growth markets remains a priority for Abercrombie & Fitch and we are delighted to bring a new store to the Middle East,” Michael Scheiner, Senior Director, Marketing & Communications at A&F, said.

The 18,000-square-foot outlet is one of the largest operated under the brand name within a mall-based environment. It follows a joint venture between Abercrombie and Fitch Co. and Majid Al Futtaim Fashion.

The Dubai store features a stand-alone fragrance boutique and a carve-out for the kids’ brand.

“There is significant demand for Abercrombie & Fitch in the Middle East and the UAE is a natural fit for the brand,” said Rajiv Suri, CEO, Majid Al Futtaim Fashion.

At the end of the third quarter, the A&F Co. operated 790 stores in the US and 175 stores across Canada, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. It also oversees the e-commerce sites www.abercrombie.com, www.abercrombiekids.com and www.HollisterCo.com.
